We were delighted and thrilled to be given the opportunity to meet and chat with the amazing virtual bodyworks and Mel Slater in the stunning city of Barcelona. Mel has spent decades at the forefront of VR research and truly can be considered to be one of the founding fathers of this field. Working with VR embodiment they have demonstrated the extraordinary ability of this technique to induce profound and measurable effects and we were lucky enough to experience a peek into that.
Based at the utterly breathtaking Barcelona Health hub Sant Pau surrounded by stunning architecture and just a stones throw from the “wow it's much bigger than I thought” Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família it was a thoroughly engaging and enjoyable day.
We’re really excited to hopefully work together taking their solutions into medical education and beyond. It has the potential to profoundly change the way we deliver medical education and with our Oxford Medical Simulation program getting under way, students and professionals in Jersey have the unique opportunity to both experience and help shape the future of medical education.
The tapas at la canete was also something else. If you get a chance to visit Barcelona we can't recommend highly enough, particularly the “spectacular boneless Iberian suckling pig”...the menu did not lie…Share this page!
